Anson Sowby

Co-Founder, CEO

Anson is the founder and CEO of Battery and a longtime entrepreneur. Having been named Ad Age’s Small Agency of the Year in Battery’s second year in business, Anson continues to change the way companies are built. Prior to Battery, he started his career leading brand marketing in the toy and video game industries before co-founding and selling one of the first pure play social media agencies called RocketXL. Anson is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Association (YPO) and holds a Business degree from the Marshall School at the University of Southern California.

Philip Khosid

Co-Founder, Chief Creative Officer

Philip’s unwavering energy to create work that rattles the mind of the consumer drives our creative philosophy. A Canuck by blood, his career has brought him to BBDO Toronto, Grey Worldwide and Dare London, but he’s grown to love the sunshine in the City of Angels as an avid motorcycle rider. He can often be found on one of his favorite SoCal tracks racing his bikes in hairpin turns at over 140 mph.

Raymond Hwang

VP Creative Director

Ray has a rich history of campaigns that build brands and sell products. Before Battery, he worked on high profile clients like Beats, Toyota and PlayStation. A Chiat and Saatchi alum, he’s won Clios, One Show, Cannes and pretty much every award out there. Ray is one of those guys who get up at 5am to drive from his downtown LA loft to surf El Porto before work every morning utilizing his self-rigged mobile shower.

Scott Brown

VP Creative Director

Scott has worked alongside and led the best of the best (himself included) creating powerful campaigns for Southwest Airlines, Visa, Nissan, Pepsi, Airbnb, Netflix and Activision. Scott’s deep commitment to the creative process and to the craft of connecting people with brands in a way that makes them feel something profound. He’s an extraordinary craftsman. He builds great brands. He’s wise and kind. His calmness and strength of character are unmatched. He has earned our industry’s deepest respect. He is, indeed, at the top of his game.

Mike Parseghian

Head of Brand

Mike has over 19 years of advertising experience working at highly regarded agencies in New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Los Angeles. Throughout his career, he has helped build global brands with his impeccable understanding of business and client needs, as well as his ability to manage and grow his internal agency team. He has a proven track record for business growth alongside his accumulation of numerous awards for outstanding creative and advertising effectiveness – including the Grand Effie for Activision. For the past 7 years, Mike has guided the Activision account helping Call of Duty become one of the largest entertainment franchises in history. During his tenure on the business, Activision’s CMO specifically requested Mike transition and lead the business when the account moved from TBWAChiatDay to 72andSunny.

When Mike isn’t thinking up new ways to build brands, he loves playing golf, running, pretending to be both a chef and coffee connoisseur and spending time exploring Los Angeles with his wife and young son, Penn.
